Verso Books is the largest radical politics/philosophy/criticism/etc publisher in the English language. Their website was the result of an especially close collaboration, during which we conceptualized, organized, and designed the site.
Their catalog reaches back to 1968, making for a massive collection. We decided to build a website that was equal parts research tool and promotional apparatus, something as useful for the user as it was for Verso. Authors, books, blog posts, discussions, and an events calendar were tied together, with each leading to the next, making for a structure that encourages both searching and wandering.
Verso keeps an active Blog on their events, books, authors, and current events.
A system was developed to highlight certain material while allowing users to browse the full Verso catalog.
Each author page is an archive of works and related links.
Covers can be seen cleanly, and at large sizes.
The site design only takes up as much space as it needs.
Coding was handled the Coderie, with whom we share a studio space.
