Every year, the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter (AIANY) honors exemplary design work produced in New York City. We developed the identity for the 2011 Design Awards, which extended across the printed collateral and through the final exhibition.
When developing the identity we focused on the celebratory nature of the awards. Figuring nothing says “spectacle and bombast” like glittering lights, we ringed the logotype in rays of vibrant yellow. This language extended to the exhibition design, with the winner’s images edged in yellow.
